Transitional Work Program

This program is designed to assist men in regaining their independence.  A guest who is interested in finding employment can apply for the Work Program and must be accepted by the Director of Men’s Ministries after meeting with the Director of Client Services.  They will be allowed 30 days to look for and accept full time employment.  Guests who already have employment may also apply for entrance into the Work Program.  These men work at their own jobs, pay a small service fee ($6/day), save 75% of their income, and set specific, attainable financial goals.  During their stay in the Work Program guests will be required to meet with a Case Manager to begin discussing their needs in order for them to gain their own housing and transition out of the program into independent living.

We provide breakfast, a sack lunch to take to work, and dinner at no charge. In addition to offering warm meals and comfortable beds, we offer laundry service, bathroom and shower facilities, and personal hygiene products free of charge.

Helping individuals develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ is the foundation of our work at the Union Rescue Mission. The men in our work program are encouraged to develop such an important relationship through chapel services and living in a Christian atmosphere.
